ProRes 422 HQ offers a higher bitrate and better quality than standard ProRes 422, ideal for footage that will undergo extensive color correction.

Practical Application

Standard recording format for many cinema cameras (external). Master codec for completed projects. Archiving of finishing-ready material. Broadcast mastering.

Technical Details

Chroma: 4:2:2. Bit Depth: 10-bit. Target Bitrate: ~220 Mbps (1080p23.98). Approximately 50% higher bitrate than ProRes 422. Visually lossless for most applications.
