ProRes 422 is the "Standard Quality" variant of the ProRes family. It offers professional image quality for broadcast and post-production at moderate file rates.

Practical Application

Standard for broadcast delivery, offline editing, and archiving. Good compromise between quality and storage. Supported by practically every post-production software.

Technical Details

Chroma: 4:2:2. Bit Depth: 10-bit. Target Bitrate: ~147 Mbps (1080p23.98). Intraframe Compression. I-Frame only (no GOP). Decoding on all Apple hardware and many Windows systems.
