Nanlite RGB-LED tube with 288 LEDs, 2700K–7500K, CRI ≥96, 40min battery life. Versatile practical light and mobile accent fixture.

Technical Details

The PavoTube II features 288 RGB+W LEDs with a color temperature range of 2700K to 7500K and a CRI of ≥96. The internal 4900mAh battery allows for 40 minutes of operation at full power, and up to 195 minutes at 25% brightness. The IP65-certified aluminum housing measures 658 × 40 × 40 mm and weighs 820 grams. Control is via the NANLINK app over Bluetooth or manually on the 0.96-inch OLED display. 30cm and 120cm variants are also available with correspondingly adjusted LED counts.

History & Development

Nanlite introduced the first PavoTube generation in 2019 in response to the growing demand for compact, battery-powered RGB light sources. The second generation was released in 2021 with improved color accuracy, longer battery life, and expanded effect modes. The development was based on feedback from filmmakers who needed flexible accent lighting for mobile productions.

Practical Use in Film

In night scenes within vehicles, PavoTubes serve as practical lights, for example, as neon tubes in bars or as instrument panel lighting. For music videos, the programmable pixel effects enable dynamic color gradients synchronized to the music. As edge lights, they create precise contours on people or objects. The magnetic ends and low weight allow for quick mounting on metal structures without additional clamps.

Comparison & Alternatives

Compared to the Astera Titan Tube, the PavoTube II offers comparable color quality at a significantly lower price, but with a shorter battery life. The Quasar Science Q-LED X is brighter but less portable. For larger sets with power supply, traditional Kino Flo tubes remain the first choice due to their superior light output. The PavoTube is primarily suitable for accents, small setups, and mobile shoots where flexibility is more important than maximum brightness.
