Rosco Cinegel #3444 is a 1/8 Straw (CTS) color temperature filter that warms daylight from 5500 K to approximately 4900 K.
Overview
Rosco Cinegel #3444 is a color correction lighting filter (gel) from the Cinegel series by manufacturer Rosco. It represents the weakest stage of the Straw series: Eighth Straw (1/8 CTS). CTS stands for "Color Temperature Straw" and denotes a yellowish-amber variant of the better-known CTO (Color Temperature Orange) filters.
Like all CTS gels, #3444 lowers the color temperature of a light source, shifting it from cooler daylight towards warmer, tungsten-closer values. Compared to the CTO series, the correction is less red and slightly more yellow, with the same degree of color temperature shift. The 1/8 stage is the finest gradation and serves more for subtle warming than for full conversion.

The filter is offered, among other formats, as individual sheets (20" x 24") and as rolls (48" x 25'). Due to its high transmission, the light loss of the 1/8 stage is very low.
Use on Set
#3444 is typically placed in front of daylight sources (HMI, daylight LED) or windows to warm them minimally without visibly shifting the light color. Common applications:
- Fine-tuning the color temperature when a full 1/4 or 1/2 CTS/CTO correction would already be too strong.
- Matching light sources to each other, for example, to bring an HMI closer to warmer sources.
- Intentionally a more yellow warming instead of the redder CTO variant, when skin tones, wardrobe, or the set require less red correction.
Within the Straw series, #3443 (1/4 Straw), #3442 (1/2 Straw), and #3441 (Full Straw) are available for stronger corrections.
