Overview
Rosco #3441 is a color correction filter (gel) from the Cinegel/Roscolux series by manufacturer Rosco, designated Full Straw, also known as Full CTS. CTS stands for Color Temperature Straw. The filter lowers the color temperature of a light source, acting as a conversion filter that shifts daylight towards artificial light/tungsten warmth.
It belongs to the family of Straw filters, designed as a yellower (less red) variant of classic CTO filters. Where CTO (Color Temperature Orange) produces an orange-red warm tone, CTS delivers a straw-yellow warm tone, less inclined towards pink/red, with comparable correction strength.

The Straw series is available in standard correction strengths: #3441 Full Straw, #3442 1/2 Straw (Half), and #3443 1/4 Straw (Quarter). #3441 is available as a sheet (approx. 20" × 24") and in rolls of various widths, among other formats.
On-Set Use
The filter is used in front of daylight sources (HMI, LED in daylight mode) or windows, or in filter frames, frames, or barndoors, to approximate artificial light/tungsten (approx. 3200 K) or to add warmth intentionally.
- Mixed lighting situations: Matching daylight sources to warm practical or tungsten lights.
- Creating a deliberately warmer, yellower image mood without the reddish cast of CTO.
- Combinable in partial strengths (1/2, 1/4) for more subtle warming.
Since the filter absorbs about one stop of light, the light loss must be factored into exposure planning. Like all correction gels, it should be mounted at a distance from hot light sources to prevent heat damage.
