Overview
The "Hybrid" dolly is a series of professional camera dollies from the US manufacturer Chapman/Leonard Studio Equipment. Current versions are Hybrid III, Hybrid IV, and Hybrid V. The concept combines features of the larger Hustler dollies with the compact design of the PeeWee series: a powerful, stiff hydraulic lift arm with a comparatively small footprint and high maneuverability. This makes the Hybrid suitable for both studio and location work and capable of carrying heavier camera packages, including 3D rigs.
The name "Hybrid" refers to this mixed construction (medium-sized dolly between PeeWee and Hustler) and not to a type of power or drive. The dolly is a pure grip platform; it is moved by hand by the dolly grip.

On-Set Use
The Hybrid is operated on smooth floors (studio, hard floor) as well as on laid dolly track. The hydraulic lift arm can be operated via a float/normal valve, allowing continuous up and down movements without stopping at the endpoint. An integrated heating system keeps the arm speed constant even in cold temperatures.
- Three steering modes: conventional, crab (all wheels parallel for sideways movement), and round (turning on the spot).
- Sliding side board system as well as foldable corner boards and an adjustable front board for different seating/mounting positions.
- Quick-release system for the wheels and a quick-jack for rapid adjustment of the axles between ground and track operation.
- Detachable deck for a lower minimum height during transport.
