Overview
The PeeWee is a series of compact camera dollies manufactured by the US company Chapman/Leonard Studio Equipment. A camera dolly is a mobile platform on which the camera is mounted to execute smooth camera movements on the floor or on tracks. The PeeWee is among the most widely used studio dollies and is designed for confined shooting situations: it has a low profile, a narrow chassis, and features a hydraulic boom arm that can raise or lower the camera during a shot. For transport, the chassis can be collapsed to a low height.
The series is produced in several generations, including the Super PeeWee III+, Super PeeWee IV, Super PeeWee IV+, and Super PeeWee V. Later models add features such as a three-mode steering system and (in the V) an integrated lithium power supply.

Set Usage
The PeeWee is operated by the Dolly Grip, who drives the dolly and controls the camera height via the boom arm. Due to its narrow width and low profile, the PeeWee is particularly suitable for confined interiors and set builds. It can be used freehand on smooth floors, on laid dolly tracks, or with the boom as a compact crane substitute for vertical movements. The different steering modes allow for precise cornering and lateral movement (crab) without reorienting the entire dolly.
