The Great Joy Anamorphic series includes focal lengths from 35mm to 135mm with a constant T2.9 aperture and a minimum focus distance of 0.8m. The optical design is based on an 8-element construction with special aspherical lenses and a blue multi-layer coating. The lenses weigh between 1.8kg (35mm) and 2.4kg (135mm), feature an 82mm filter thread, and a uniform 95mm front diameter for matte boxes. The focus and aperture rings are equipped with standard 0.8-module gears.
Great Joy launched the Anamorphic series in 2019. A Full Frame version for large sensors followed in 2021, and a compact "Compact" variant with reduced weight was released in 2023.
The lenses produce blue lens flares and require precise focus pulling. Breathing is below 3%. Primarily used in low-budget and streaming productions.

Die einheitlichen Frontdurchmesser erleichtern den Objektivwechsel erheblich, auch wenn die Schärfe zu den Bildrändern hin merklich abnimmt.

Mit 8.000 Euro pro Objektiv kosten Great Joy Anamorphics nur ein Zehntel von Cooke-Linsen und amortisieren sich bereits nach drei Produktionen. Das Gewicht erfordert zwar stabilere Kamera-Rigs, spart aber teure Mietkosten bei längeren Drehzeiten und macht anamorphotisches Drehen auch für kleinere Produktionen erschwinglich.
