Definition

Log-C is ARRI's proprietary logarithmic gamma curve, developed for maximum image quality and optimal utilization of the ALEXA sensor's dynamic range.

Practical Application

Log-C is the de facto standard for high-end film production. The look serves as a reference for other manufacturers. The curve is used in conjunction with AWG (ARRI Wide Gamut).

Technical Details

Log-C3: For ALEXA Classic, Mini, SXT, LF. Log-C4: For ALEXA 35 with extended dynamic range. Middle Grey at 400 (Log-C3) or scaled differently for Log-C4. ARRI provides official LUTs.
