Primary Correction encompasses all adjustments that affect the entire image uniformly: Exposure, White Balance, Contrast, Saturation. The foundation before any secondary correction.

Application in Practice

First stage of any grading workflow. Shot matching between shots. Technical correction before creative look. Lift-Gamma-Gain and Printer Lights are primary tools.

Technical Details

No Masks/Qualifiers = Primary. Lift/Gamma/Gain or Log Wheels. Offset for uniform shift. Pivot for contrast adjustment. Saturation global. Color Wheels for color balance.
