Bei Handheld-Aufnahmen muss ich das 416 immer mitdenken, weil der Tonassistent näher ran muss als bei Weitwinkel-Mikros – das schränkt meine Kadrage besonders bei 35mm und darunter ein. Die Angel darf nie ins Bild ragen, deshalb bevorzuge ich bei engen Setups oft Ansteckmikrofone, auch wenn der Ton nicht ganz so natürlich klingt.
Das charakteristische "Sennheiser-Timbre" des 416 prägt den dokumentarischen Look meiner Filme unbewusst mit – dieser leicht präsente, direkte Sound verstärkt die Authentizität von Dialogszenen. Bei emotionalen Nahaufnahmen lasse ich den Boom bewusst näher rangehen, weil das 416 Stimmen eine intime Wärme verleiht, die Lavalier-Mikros nie erreichen.
Ein 416 kostet einmalig 580€ und läuft problemlos 15 Jahre durch alle Produktionen – das macht unter 40€ pro Jahr an Equipment-Kosten. Unsere drei Einheiten haben bereits 200 Drehtage hinter sich ohne nennenswerte Reparaturen, während billigere Alternativen nach zwei Jahren ausgetauscht werden müssen.
