Overview
Rosco 3206 is a color correction gel (light filter) from the manufacturer Rosco, designated Third Blue CTB (also "1/3 Blue"). It is a partial conversion gel from the CTB (Color Temperature Blue) family, which shifts artificial/tungsten light towards daylight. The gel is stretched over lamp heads or placed in front of windows or in frames, and is listed in the Cinegel and Roscolux product lines.
CTB gels are available in several strengths. Within the common CTB range, the 3206 (Third Blue, 1/3 CTB) sits between 1/2 CTB (Rosco 3204) and 1/4 CTB (Rosco 3208); the latter is the weakest of the four stages, while Full Blue CTB (Rosco 3202) provides the full conversion.

The gel is available as sheets (typically 20" x 24") as well as rolls (e.g., 48" x 25 ft).
On-Set Use
The 3206 is used for a gradual approximation of artificial light to daylight when a full conversion would be too strong. Typical applications:
- slight increase in color temperature of tungsten heads to match daylight or the surrounding lighting mood
- compensating for dimmed ("rolled off") artificial light that becomes warmer due to voltage reduction
- correcting aged HMI lamps or yellowed soft lights that have become too warm
- subtle cooling of light as a creative tool, without the full blue shift of a Full CTB
Since the 3206 provides only about one-third of the full conversion, less light is lost compared to Full Blue — an important factor when brightness on set is scarce.
