Overview
Rosco 3106 is the filter number for "Tough MTY", a color correction filter from the manufacturer Rosco's Cinegel range. It is explicitly not a diffusion or lighting material, but a conversion filter that matches the light color of arc lamps and HMI sources to artificial light (Tungsten).
The filter combines two correction stages of the Cinegel Arc series into one sheet: it combines the effect of MT2 (Rosco 3102) and Y-1. This eliminates the need to stack two individual filters in front of the same fixture.
Function and Color Correction
The 3106 corrects sources with a color temperature of around 5500 K – classically so-called "White Flame" carbon arc lamps as well as HMI daylight sources – to 3200 K, i.e., to artificial light/Tungsten balance. This allows arc or HMI fixtures to be mixed with incandescent light in a scene without color cast.

Set Usage
The 3106 is placed in front of arc lamps or HMI fixtures when they need to be color-matched in a scene predominantly lit with artificial light. The "Tough" construction with a deep-dyed, heat-resistant base is designed for the high thermal load of intense arc and HMI sources. Like other Cinegel filters, the 3106 is usually available as a sheet (20" x 24") and as a roll (48" x 25').
