Overview
Rosco 3202 is a color conversion gel (light filter) from the Rosco Cinegel/Roscolux range, designated Full Blue CTB. CTB stands for Color Temperature Blue: the gel is placed in front of artificial light sources to raise their warm tungsten light of 3200 K to a daylight-like color temperature of around 5500 K. It is the counterpart to the orange CTO gels, which convert daylight down to artificial light.
3202 is the full strength of the CTB range. For weaker corrections, there are graduated variants such as 1/2 CTB (3204), 1/4 CTB, and 1/8 CTB, which allow the color temperature to be raised in a controlled manner.

Available as individual sheets (approx. 20" x 24") as well as rolls (e.g., 24" and 48" width). Because the gel is deep-dyed rather than just surface-coated, it is comparatively fade- and heat-resistant.
Use on Set
A typical application is matching artificial light to daylight: If working in a set with tungsten lights and daylight (windows, HMIs) simultaneously, Full Blue brings the warm lamps to a common, daylight-like color temperature. This allows mixed lighting situations to be cleanly adjusted to a white balance.
- Placed in front of tungsten ERS, Fresnels, or soft lights, attached in a gel frame or with wooden clothespins on the barndoors.
- Due to the strong blue correction, the light output is noticeably reduced (transmission approx. 36%); plan for correspondingly more power.
- With heat, maintain sufficient distance from the lamp and ensure ventilation to prevent deformation or fading.
