The Prolycht Orion series achieves illuminance levels up to 45,000 lux at a distance of one meter and operates with power consumption ranging from 300W to 675W. The color spectrum encompasses over 16.7 million hues with 100% color saturation within the Rec.2020 color space. The units utilize proprietary COB (Chip-on-Board) LED arrays with active air cooling via temperature-controlled fans. Control is managed through DMX512, Art-Net, or the proprietary Stellar app via CRMX wireless technology. Prolycht fixtures are preferably used in high-end productions requiring precise color rendition. The Netflix series "The Crown" (Season 5) utilized the Orion 675 RGB for interior shots in historical buildings to authentically simulate warm candlelight atmospheres. For night shoots, the RGB variants allow for rapid color changes without gel filters (CTB/CTO). The flicker-free operation from 500Hz onwards makes them ideal for slow-motion sequences. Disadvantages include the high weight (Orion 675: 12.8kg) and fan noise at maximum output.
Prolycht directly competes with ARRI SkyPanel and Aputure Nova series, but offers higher color saturation in RGB mode. Compared to traditional HMI lights, ballasts and lamp changes are eliminated, but the initial purchase cost is 40-60% higher. For budget productions, Aputure LS series are more cost-effective but do not achieve Prolycht's color accuracy. As an alternative to Tungsten lighting, they offer immediate operational readiness without a warm-up phase and 90% lower power consumption.

Die RGB-Funktionalität gibt mir narrative Möglichkeiten, die ich früher nur in der Post hätte realisieren können – ich kann Stimmungswechsel live am Set durch subtile Farbverschiebungen erzeugen. Besonders bei emotionalen Szenen nutze ich die nahtlosen Übergänge von warmem zu kühlem Licht, um Charakterentwicklung visuell zu unterstützen. Die Geschwindigkeit der Farbwechsel ermöglicht es mir, mehrere Takes mit verschiedenen Looks zu drehen, ohne das Lighting-Setup zu ändern.
Ein Orion 675 kostet 4.500€, aber ersetzt praktisch drei klassische Scheinwerfer plus Zubehör – die Amortisation erfolgt bereits nach fünf Drehtagen durch gesparte Stromkosten und reduzierte Crew-Zeit. Der niedrige Stromverbrauch senkt die Location-Kosten erheblich, da weniger Generatoren oder Stromanschlüsse nötig sind. Die Haltbarkeit von 50.000 Betriebsstunden eliminiert Lampenkosten und Ausfallzeiten komplett.
