3. Creative Use

The 1.8x squeeze delivers a more oval bokeh than classic 2x systems, but remains significantly more characterful than 1.33x compromise solutions. The strong flares — streaks, X-flares, and caustics in blue, cyan, amber, and green — create distinct visual accents with opposing light sources; those who wish to control them will need to work with flags and a matte box. The slight barrel distortion at the image edges is visible at a 35mm focal length but is easily manageable in normal framing sizes. With a weight of just under 3 kg, the lens is still practical for shoulder and gimbal use, but requires a balanced rig.
