3. Creative Use

With its 2.0x squeeze, the lens produces pronounced horizontal lens flares in amber tones, as well as oval bokeh shapes – both typical characteristics of classic anamorphic aesthetics. The barrel distortion enhances the organic feel of the image. At T2.0, it is usable in available light situations, even though modern APO coatings provide comparatively clean image performance. In practice, it is primarily found in indie productions and music videos that need to keep anamorphic optics within budget, as well as at rental houses as a more affordable alternative to classic Cooke or Hawk anamorphics. To date, no well-known productions for which the lens has demonstrably been used are documented.
