Brightest 2x1 RGBWW soft panel with 600W, 18,346 lux at 1m, 4 independent light engines, and pixel control.

The Aputure Nova P600c is the brightest 2x1 soft panel on the market and the first Aputure fixture with multiple light engines and pixel control. The 4 independent light engines enable complex color effects and can be controlled individually via DMX.

History & Development

Market launch 2021 with Sidus Link technology for true pixel control. Firmware update 2023 added DMX control and expanded effect modes.

Practical Use in Film

Used as a color key light for interviews or as an RGB accent light. Replaces multiple smaller RGB lights and reduces cable runs. Silent mode allows use in dialogue scenes. In daylight exteriors, 600W is not enough to compete with sunlight.

Comparison & Alternatives

Compared to ARRI SkyPanel S60-C: higher light output at lower weight, less precise color calibration. Litepanels Gemini 2x1 Hard: similar performance, 40% more expensive. Aputure MC series: 10% of the light output at a lower budget. Daylight exteriors: HMI fixtures like ARRI M18 with 1,800W deliver more punch.

Perspectives

Cinematographer
