Color filter at 1/4 strength of Plus Green — subtly reduces magenta/red cast without drastically shifting Color Temperature. Ideal for fine Color Grading under mixed light.

Technical Specifications

1/4 Plus Green (Lee #245) shifts the light spectrum by CC10 Green. The transmission is 82%, which corresponds to a light loss of only 0.3 stops.

Modern Fluorescent Application

Current fluorescent tubes and LED retrofits have better color rendering (CRI 85-95). The green spike is reduced, but not eliminated. 1/4 Plus Green compensates for these moderate overhangs.

Perspectives

Cinematographer

1/4 Plus Green is my go-to for modern fluorescent situations. Newer T5 and T8 tubes have less of a green spike than older tubes.

Director

On shoots in modern office buildings, I use 1/4 Plus Green for subtle matching without extensive post-correction.

Producer

1/4 Plus Green offers the best cost-benefit ratio for location shoots. The minimal light loss means no need for larger lights.
