Definition

S-Log3 is Sony's current log standard, optimized for workflows with other log formats and ACES. Used on Venice, FX6, FX9, and Alpha series (video).

Practical Application

Standard for all professional Sony productions. Similar curve characteristic to ARRI Log-C for easier shot matching. S-Gamut3.Cine as the standard companion.

Technical Details

~15+ stops dynamic range (Venice). Middle Grey: ~41% IRE. Smoother rolloff than S-Log2. S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine as color spaces. ACES IDT available.
