Paint-Out removes unwanted elements from the image by digitally painting over them: safety ropes, modern elements in period pieces, crew reflections, or temporary tracking markers.

Practical Application

Ubiquitous: Wire removal during stunts. Logo removal for legal reasons. Cleanup of set equipment. Removal of passersby. Skin cleanup and beauty work.

Technical Details

Clone/Patch Tool: Copying clean areas. Planar tracking for moving paint. Temporal Clone: Overlaying frames. AI-based tools (Content-Aware Fill) are increasingly automating this.
