Definition

Log-C4 is the new generation of ARRI's log encoding, specifically developed for the ALEXA 35 with its new ALEV IV sensor and 17+ stops of dynamic range.

Practical Application

All ALEXA 35 productions work with Log-C4. The improved curve optimizes the utilization of the extended dynamic range. New LUTs and workflows are required.

Technical Details

Modified scaling for extended dynamic range. Not directly compatible with Log-C3 LUTs. ARRI provides conversion LUTs. AWG4 as the new, extended color space.
