As a DoP, I particularly appreciate the weight savings of the Primo X without any loss of quality – finally, I can use the same optical language for drone shots as for the main shots. The Primo X opens up entirely new creative possibilities for dynamic camera movements without me having to make visual compromises. Especially in emotional scenes, I can now achieve the same cinematic quality from the air or with complex gimbal movements as with the large Primo lenses on a tripod. Although the Primo X are only available through Panavision rental, which limits flexibility, for high-end productions, the unique combination of compactness and Panavision quality definitely justifies the extra cost. The planning security provided by Panavision's service is an important factor for international shoots.
Als DoP schätze ich an den Primo X besonders die Gewichtsersparnis ohne Qualitätsverlust - endlich kann ich bei Drohnenaufnahmen die gleiche optische Sprache wie bei den Hauptaufnahmen verwenden. Die Objektive liefern auch bei offener Blende gestochen scharfe Bilder mit dem charakteristischen Primo-Look, den ich so liebe.
Die Primo X eröffnen mir völlig neue kreative Möglichkeiten für dynamische Kamerafahrten, ohne dass ich visuelle Kompromisse eingehen muss. Besonders bei emotionalen Szenen kann ich jetzt auch aus der Luft oder mit komplexen Gimbal-Bewegungen die gleiche cineastische Qualität erzielen wie mit den großen Primo-Objektiven am Stativ.
Die Primo X sind zwar nur über Panavision-Verleih verfügbar, was die Flexibilität einschränkt, aber für High-End-Produktionen rechtfertigt die einzigartige Kombination aus Kompaktheit und Panavision-Qualität definitiv die Mehrkosten. Die Planungssicherheit durch Panavisions Service ist dabei ein wichtiger Faktor für internationale Drehs.
