Overview
The MōVI Pro is a motorized 3-axis camera stabilizer (gimbal) from the US manufacturer Freefly Systems. Using brushless motors on the pan, tilt, and roll axes, the system keeps the camera steady in the frame despite the operator's movement. The MōVI Pro was announced in early November 2016, with availability starting mid-November 2016. It replaced the older M10 and M15 gimbals and is designed for handheld operation as well as aerial applications on drones or cranes; it is aimed at mirrorless cameras up to compact cinema cameras.
In terms of construction, Freefly relies on carbon tubes and a compact camera cage. Integrated are an FIZ controller (Focus, Iris, Zoom), a screen for tuning and configuration, and an auto-tune function for quick balance and stiffness adjustment.

Operation and Modes
The MōVI Pro is operated via a wireless controller or the MIMIC motion control system: The MIMIC captures the operator's movements and intuitively transfers them to the gimbal axes. In addition, there are operating modes such as Majestic Mode and Timelapse Mode, as well as dual GPS support.
Use on Set
In production, the MōVI Pro is used for running, floating, and dynamic camera movements without tracks or traditional Steadicam setups. Thanks to the hot-swappable batteries, charging can be done during operation without losing balance. Typical applications include handheld tracking shots, handovers between operator and rigs (crane, slider), and aerial shots where the gimbal is mounted under a drone.
