Overview
FRK is an ANSI lamp code (not a manufacturer or device name). ANSI three-letter codes designate interchangeable lamp types with defined wattage, voltage, base, and geometry: a lamp marked FRK from OSRAM, GE, Philips, or ARRI is electrically and mechanically identical and interchangeable.
Specifically, FRK stands for a single-ended quartz halogen lamp with 650 watts at 120 volts and a GY9.5 type base. It is designed for a color temperature of 3200 K (Tungsten/artificial light) and is thus a typical light source for 120V mains in North America.
