The Cooke Anamorphic/i SF 75mm is a modern 2x anamorphic lens from the SF (Special Flair) line, introduced by Cooke Optics, Leicester in 2016. It was developed as a counterpoint to the spherical, clean image rendering of contemporary optics, specifically catering to the demand for controlled anamorphic character within a professionally manufactured housing.

3. Creative Use

The 75mm equivalent in 2x squeeze delivers a classic anamorphic perspective on a Super 35 sensor, with a pronounced blue streak flare that activates strongly with direct light sources. This is intentionally designed and distinguishes the SF line from Cooke's standard anamorphic lenses. The pincushion distortion is visible and contributes to the organic feel of the image without breaking the image geometry. With a T2.3 maximum aperture, the lens is suitable for controlled studio situations as well as ambitious indie productions seeking an analog anamorphic look without the complexities of classic vintage optics. The lens is often found in the inventory of larger rental houses as part of a complete SF set; individual lenses are rented less frequently.
