Studio 35mm film camera by ARRI (2004) — compact 4-perf body that defined the Arricam family after the Arriflex era. Re-established as a high-end music video body in 2026.
The ARRI Arricam LT (Lightweight) is the compact variant of the Arricam family (supplemented by the heavier studio variant Arricam ST). Introduced in 2004 as ARRI's first completely newly designed 35mm body family after the Arriflex line. Standard 4-perf, with PL mount and integrated video assist interface.
Construction
Magnesium body, 90 dB noise level in studio mode, interchangeable 400ft/1000ft magazines. In contrast to the Arriflex 235 (3-perf MOS, lighter, noisier), the Arricam LT is the standard studio body — designed for dialogue scenes, sync sound shoots, and longer setups.
2026 Music Video Revival
With the recurring wave of high-end 35mm film music video productions (Drake releases via Kelly Jeffrey, other major label releases via Andy Woodward, Theo Skudra), the Arricam LT has re-established itself as the standard body for this market. Rental prices have almost doubled compared to the low point in 2020 — from EUR 600-800/day to EUR 1,200-1,500/day (2026 market).
Relationship to other ARRI Bodies
Arricam LT (4-perf Studio) → Arriflex 235 (3-perf Lightweight) → Arriflex 416 (16mm Lightweight) → Alexa Class (Digital). In a hybrid production on film + digital, the Arricam LT is the natural 35mm anchor alongside an Alexa 35 as the main digital body.
