Best Practices: Base Camp Management

  1. Scout Early: 6-8 weeks before production
  2. Plan Parking: 1 spot per 1.5-2 crew members
  3. Catering Quality: Good food = happy crew
  4. Sanitation: Sufficient restrooms, daily cleaning
  5. Safety First: Security & emergency procedures
  6. Weather Protection: Covered tents, heaters/coolers
  7. Clear Layout: Signage, easy-to-navigate
  8. Crew Comfort: Seating areas, shade, drinks
  9. Communication: Call sheets with Base Camp timing
  10. Backup Plans: Generator, WiFi, restroom backup

Base Camp is often underestimated but absolutely critical for production efficiency. Poor Base Camp = low crew morale = schedule problems. Good Base Camp = happy crew = smooth production.
