As a cinematographer, I appreciate the B-Speed for its distinctive optical characteristics – the warm, organic look is difficult to replicate with modern lenses. B-Speed lenses are a costly investment, as vintage equipment is often more expensive than modern alternatives and incurs additional maintenance costs. Nevertheless, the unique look often justifies the extra cost, especially when it is part of the creative concept – however, I always plan for backup lenses in case of technical problems.
