The Sirui Astra series are the world's first full-frame anamorphic lenses with autofocus and T1.8. Three focal lengths (50mm, 75mm, 100mm) with an identical 67mm filter diameter and a 1.33x squeeze factor deliver a 2.35:1 final aspect ratio on 16:9 sensors. Two flare variants available: Classic Blue Streak or Neutral. Switching between AF and manual focus is possible, distance scale is compatible with follow focus and LiDAR.
The Astra series enables an anamorphic cinematic look even on a limited budget. Their compact design and autofocus make them ideal for gimbal, run-and-gun, and documentary work. The 1.33x factor produces subtler oval bokeh circles than 2x anamorphic lenses and more natural facial proportions.
Als Kameramann schätze ich die Sirui Astra besonders für ihre konsistente Farbwiedergabe und die markanten horizontalen Flares, die dem Bild sofort Kinocharakter verleihen. Der Autofokus funktioniert zuverlässig und ermöglicht es mir, mich auf die Bildkomposition zu konzentrieren, ohne ständig manuell nachfokussieren zu müssen.
Die Astra-Objektive geben mir die Möglichkeit, auch bei begrenztem Budget den epischen Look großer Kinoproduktionen zu erzielen. Der weite 2,39:1-Bildausschnitt verstärkt die emotionale Wirkung von Landschaftsaufnahmen und Personenführung erheblich und unterstützt meine visuelle Erzählweise perfekt.
Die Sirui Astra Serie bietet ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und macht anamorphotische Produktionen auch für mittlere Budgets realisierbar. Mit etwa einem Zehntel der Kosten traditioneller Anamorphot-Sets kann ich meinen Regisseuren den gewünschten Look bieten, ohne das Budget zu sprengen.
