Overview
A Single Bank (also known as "1 Bank") refers to the narrowest configuration in the Bank series of fluorescent soft lights from Kino Flo. While a 4Bank holds four tubes in parallel and a Double (2 Bank) holds two, the Single Bank housing accommodates only one tube. This results in a very flat, bar-like light source with a small footprint.
As with all Kino Flo lights, the system operates flicker-free (HMI/camera-compatible) and remains cool during operation. The tube can be replaced tool-free, allowing for either a tungsten- or daylight-balanced tube to be inserted depending on the scene. The Single Bank is available in the common lengths of 2' and 4'. The term is used generically beyond Kino Flo for compatible single-tube lights from other manufacturers (e.g., CineFlo).

The fixture is operated via an external Kino Flo ballast (e.g., Select/VE), which switches between High Output and Standard Output; Select ballasts also allow for dimming and tuning.
Set Application
The Single Bank is the typical solution when soft fluorescent light is needed in confined spaces: as an eye light, a narrow kicker or grazing light, for fill in small image areas, or as a hidden source on set. Due to its shallow depth, it can be concealed behind furniture, door frames, or actors, or placed inside a vehicle interior.
- Practical Fixture: Low power consumption and cool operation allow for use on weak circuits and close to flammable materials.
- Modular: Single, Double, and 4Bank share tube and ballast systems; the more Banks, the higher the intensity and the wider, softer spread.
- Installation: The tube can also be used outside the housing—for example, fixed to a wall or hand-held.
