What is the Panaflex-X?

The Panaflex-X (1975) was Panavision's simplified, more affordable version of the original Panaflex. It retained the revolutionary concept – self-blimped, handheld-capable, PV-mount – but omitted some premium features to make the Panaflex revolution accessible to more productions.

Cinematographer

Die Panaflex-X war die Einsteiger-Panaflex. Weniger Features als die volle Panaflex, aber das gleiche Grundkonzept – selbstgedämpft, handgehaltene Möglichkeit, PV-Mount. Für viele Produktionen war sie mehr als ausreichend.

Director

Die X machte Panaflex für mehr Produktionen erschwinglich. Nicht jeder Film brauchte alle Features der Premium-Version. Sie demokratisierte den Zugang zur Panaflex-Revolution.

Producer

Die X war perfekt für Produktionen mit begrenztem Budget, die trotzdem Panavision-Qualität wollten. Günstiger im Verleih, aber mit dem gleichen Objektiv-System.
