Photo optics giant with a cinema comeback — Nikkor cine primes and the legendary stills glass that's lived in features since Kubrick.

Nikon does not have its own dedicated cinema line like Canon or Sony—but Nikkor photo lenses have been used in feature films for decades. Kubrick shot Barry Lyndon with Zeiss, but many of his other films utilized Nikkors. Today, Nikon offers cinema-adapted primes and zooms, but the real treasure lies in the vintage realm: Nikkor AI-S primes are widely rehoused.
