Probe lens with elongated barrel design enabling 2:1 macro shots at f/14. Ideal for extreme close-ups in tight spaces with minimal light loss.

Definition

The Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe is a highly specialized macro lens with an exceptional tubular design. With a focal length of 24mm and a maximum aperture of f/14, it allows for extreme close-ups at a magnification ratio of 2:1. The characteristic design with a slim, 40cm long probe tube allows the camera to be inserted into hard-to-reach areas without disturbing the subject being filmed.

The waterproof front element enables shooting in damp environments or even underwater. The LED light ring at the front end provides even illumination for extreme close-ups.

Practical Application

The probe lens is primarily used for exceptional macro shots that would be impossible with conventional lenses. Typical applications include nature shots of insects in their natural habitat, medical documentation, product photography of small objects, or creative shots in confined spaces.

Technical Details

The optical construction comprises 27 lens elements in 21 groups. The minimum focusing distance is 20cm, allowing for extreme magnifications. The lens features manual focus and stepless aperture adjustment.
