Color correction gel for artificial light — reduces green cast by half a stop. Used when tungsten light throws too much green but full correction pulls too much.

Application

The 1/2 Plus Green filter is used for:

  • Warm-White LED Correction: LED sources (e.g., 2700-3000 K) with overly magenta spectrum
  • High-Speed Camera Correction: Many HS cameras require Plus Green for natural colors
  • Special LED Types: Cheap or old LED chips that are too magenta
  • Cinematic Grading Effects: Deliberately used green shift for science fiction or horror
  • Fine-Tuning: With 1/2 Plus Green for more subtle control over Full Plus Green

Practical Tips

  1. Plus Green vs. Minus Green:
  • Minus Green (Magenta): Compensates for green tint → for fluorescent/old tungsten lamps
  • Plus Green (Green): Compensates for magenta tint → for problematic LEDs/HS cameras
  • Opposites: One color for opposite problems
  1. Full vs. 1/2 Plus Green:
  • Full Plus Green: For extreme magenta tint
  • 1/2 Plus Green: For moderate magenta tint or for more subtle effects
  1. LED Situations:
  • Standard LED (5600 K Daylight): No green filters needed
  • Warm-White LED (2700-3000 K): Often Plus Green required
  • Cheap/old LED chips: Frequently Plus Green for correct spectrum
